New! We Raise Our Voices to Jerusalem
Representing more than 150 community synagogues in North America and 50 communities in Israel, we at the National Council of Young Israel are charging our constituent rabbinic leaders, and members of other Rabbinic organizations to speak out in support of a united Jerusalem.

We must raise our voices at the thought of losing our united capital of Jerusalem,” says Rabbi Pesach Lerner, Executive Vice President and Rabbi Neil Winkler of the Young Israel of Fort Lee, New Jersey. To defend against any proposal to divide Jerusalem, we are advising all our Rabbis and affiliates to expound on the absolute unity of Jerusalem in their sermons, and to rally their congregations to write to Israel’s Ambassador in Washington D.C., and to write to editors of secular and Jewish media in support of Jerusalem.

We are also working to align major Jewish groups to protect Jerusalem, which is now in danger of being carved up, with plans floated to make East Jerusalem the capital of a Palestinian State, and giving the Temple Mount to Jordan. “We are building a rabbinic coalition and will be calling upon you to add your name and voice to a campaign in support of the undivided City of Jerusalem,” wrote Rabbi Lerner and Rabbi Winkler to their colleagues.

Spend One Minute to Save the Temple Mount! Download Flyer
For two months Islamic officials have been permitted by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and
the Israel Antiquities Authority to dig, with heavy equipment, on the Temple Mount.
Dr. Gabriel Barkai, a Bar-Ilan University Archeologist, has decried the “destruction of
one of the most important archeological sites in the world.” The official Israel Antiquities Authority website contains a page for the specific purpose of "reporting an antiquities robbery." We urge you to take one minute to express your concern. Please click here to voice your concern.

Suggested text: "The Temple Mount Wakf is systematically destroying Second Temple artifacts on the Temple Mount in broad daylight with Israeli police protection, who claim that the Israel Antiquities Authority has sanctioned this wanton destruction.I am asking you to act according to the laws of the State of Israel and demand proper archaeological supervision of the Wakf Temple Mount excavation. It is inconceivable that this destruction of Jewish treasures should be taking place in the State of Israel."

Please e-mail Ambassador Sallai Meridor and Ambassador Asaf Shariv with a similar message.

National Council of Young Israel partners with The David Project
The David Project Center for Jewish Leadership is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to promote a fair and honest understanding of the Arab-Israeli conflict. The rise of anti-Israel sentiment and the surge of campaigns against the Jewish state and her supporters have produced an unexpected wave of anti-Semitism around the globe. We work to develop educated, skilled and courageous leaders to combat this growing animus, to advocate effectively for Israel on the campuses, in high schools, with churches, and in the general community. We work to bolster the Jewish community's response with effective training, easy to implement campaigns, and a spirit of collaboration with other community agencies. We do not endorse any political agenda beyond Israel's right to exist securely and peacefully among its Arab neighbors.
